Betty Shepard

Betty Carol Shepherd, age 72, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at her residence. She was born on May 25, 1942 in Mt. Victory, KY to the late William Oscar Whitaker and Lydia Ethel Phelps Whitaker. She was united in marriage to William L. Shepherd on April 2, 1970 in TN and he preceded her in death on December 18, 2014. Betty was of the Baptist Faith and she was a custodian for the Pulaski County Board of Education.



Betty is survived by a son, Kenneth Shepherd (Becca) of Somerset; one sister, Myrtle Mofield of Eubank; grandchildren, Michael Shepherd (Jessica) and Wesley Godsey and one great-granddaughter, Alayna Shepherd. Betty is also survived by several nieces and nephews and close friend, Mary Guinn.



Betty was preceded in death by four brothers, Edgar, Bobby, Don and Henry Whitaker, and six sisters, Ruby Salmons, Joann Goodin, Mildred Michaels, Edith Harrison, Helen Hargis and Audrey Neal.



A graveside service will be held Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11:00 at Lakeside Memorial Gardens with Rev. Gerald Ashley officiating.
