Donald Brown

Donald R. Brown, age 81 of Somerset, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024 at Jean Waddle Care Center, Hospice of Lake Cumberland. Donald was born on December 14, 1942 at Somerset, KY to Colyer Brown and Elizabeth Turner Brown. He married Ima Jean Massey in Jellico, TN. Donald was a self-employed tow truck operator. He enjoyed hunting and was able to take several hunting trips out west, which he loved. He collected coins and guns, enjoyed dirt track racing and in his younger days, he raced. Donald was of the Baptist faith and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. 

Survivors include his wife, Ima Jean Massey Brown of Somerset; his daughter, Donna (Charles) Wood of Somerset; two grandchildren, Taran Wood and Nicholas Wood; two great grandchildren, Lyla Kennedy and Ethan Kennedy; his best friend of many years, Danny Coomer; several brothers and sisters, extended family members and neighbors who are saddened by his passing.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Colyer and Elizabeth Brown; and several sisters.

Visitation for Donald Brown will be held on Thursday July 25, 2024 from 10:00 am – 11:30 am at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Hwy 80, Somerset, KY 42503. His funeral will follow on July 25th at 11:30 am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Rowland officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
