Edgar R. "Ed" Epperson, 93, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Jean Waddle Care Center.
He was born in Somerset, Kentucky on September 5, 1923, son of Willie and Beatrice McKee Epperson. He was dedicated to God, his family, and his country. He was a charter member and deacon of Bethel Baptist Church. As a WWII veteran, he served as an Aircraft Mechanic in the Army Air Corp and Navy Reserves. He was a partner in Epperson Electric and Epperson Bros Farms.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Norma Christine Eaton Epperson, on March 26, 2016; his parents and one brother, Hobert Epperson.
He is survived by two sons, Eddie & (Jody) Epperson of Somerset and David & (Gina) Epperson of Richmond, KY; two daughters, Linda & (Onva) Hargis of Cincinnati, OH and Janice Epperson of Somerset; seven grandchildren, Nathan & (Courtney) Epperson, Caleb & (Tori) Epperson, Daniel & (Angela) Epperson, Aaron & (Misty) Epperson, Debbie & (Scott) Wiles, Tim & (Sherri) Hargis and Steve & (Melissa) Hargis; sixteen great�grandchildren, twelve great-great grandchildren; one brother, Gene Epperson of Somerset; two sisters, Kathryn Harmon of Somerset and Doris Hammond of Salem, IN, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Slade Moore and Bro. Vincent Carman officiating.
Visitation will be after 11 AM Saturday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to the Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund.
