James Burton

James Farris Burton age 79, of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. James was born on January 26, 1945 to Samuel and Ada Burton in Somerset; James enjoyed watching Kentucky Basketball, gardening, watching the grandkids play baseball. He attended the Church of the Nazarene when he was able.

Mr. Burton is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Phaylus Burton and Vertrees Burton; sister, Faye Stoops.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife, Janet of 54 years; sons, Steve (Kelly) Burton of Somerset and Stan Burton of Somerset. Sister, Delta Burdine of Clarksville, Indiana; Along with 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. James Burton will be held Friday May 31, 2024, from Noon-1 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 P.M. with Bro. Jamey Epperson officiating. Interment will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
