Jesse L. Molden, age 98, of the Waterloo Community of Nancy, KY, departed this life on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center.
Jesse was born on February 28, 1922 at Waterloo in Nancy, KY to the late Wyatt Molden and Lucinda Jane Sharp Molden. He was a United States Navy World War II Veteran, a farmer, the owner of Molden’s Supermarket in Nancy, and a member of White Oak Baptist Church in Nancy.
He is survived by three children, Josephine Sampley of Livingston, TN; Billy (and Karen) Molden of Middletown, DE and Jimmy (and MaryBelle) Molden of Nancy, KY; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Wyatt and Lucinda Molden, he was preceded in death by his wife, Merlie Molden and she preceded him on April 15, 2016; a son-in-law, Jerry Sampley; one sister, May Webb; five brothers, James, Otha, Delmer, Howard, and Dewey Molden and two grandchildren, April Molden and Ronald Sampley.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 11:00am until 12:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
His funeral service will follow on Friday at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Butte officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the Gideon Bible Memorial Fund, Hospice of Lake Cumberland or the Tillman Tarter Cemetery Fund.
