John Hart, age 94, of Somerset, KY, departed this life on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center.
John was born on April 8, 1922 in Leslie County, KY, to the late Jesse and Alice Maggard Hart. John is a WWII Veteran; having served in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Air Defensive Europe. He is a retired farmer and carpenter. John loved reminiscing about old times, farming, his cows, and selling vegetables. He could do it all; carpentry, electrical work, and building houses.
He is survived by his daughters, Sharon Morrow of Somerset, Renee Coleman of Morgantown, KY, and Pam McGinnis of Mt. Sterling, KY; a sister, Evelyn Sutherland of Indiana; five grandchildren, Shari (and Garnett) Tuttle, Barry (and Tina) Morrow, Hollie Coleman, Heather Stogsdill, Nathan McGinnis, and Natalie McGinnis; three great grandchildren, Lexi Morrow, Blake Tuttle, and Abigail Tuttle; and a great-great-grandchild, Madelyn Tuttle.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by two sons, Thomas and Michael Hart; five brothers, Maurice, Fred, Edward, Curt, and Woodson Hart; and two sisters, Gladys Loveless and Violet Howard.
Visitation will be on Monday, March 6, 2017 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
His funeral service will be held on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 1:00pm in the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Regiel New officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Full Military Honors to be conducted by the American Legion Post #38.
