Joyce Anderson

Joyce N. Anderson, 83 of Somerset passed from this life on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at her home in Somerset after an extended illness.

She was born on January 1, 1941 in Casey County, Kentucky daughter of the late Oscar Godsey and Della Hall Godsey. Joyce was of the Baptist Faith and was a kind-hearted, generous and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed traveling, camping, cooking and spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death her husband; Elza Anderson, Jr. her siblings; Clay Godsey, Claudie Godsey, Earl Godsey, Elbert Godsey and Carl Godsey as well as Beulah Turner, Lucreta Eads and Rose Calvin and a son; Jack Anderson.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, a daughter; Joyce Ann (Johnny) Adkins, a son; Robert Andrew Anderson of Somerset, a sister; Eunice :Judy” Brown of Dayton, Ohio, three grandchildren; Johnny (Beth) Adkins, III of Ferguson, Jessica (Chris) Price and Russell (Samantha) Anderson all of Somerset, six great-grandchildren; Cole Adkins, Alex Price, Jayden Price, Corbyn Price, Addie Anderson and Jackson Anderson and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, July 29, 2024 in the Chapel of Somerset Undertaking Co & Crematory. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Griffis Officiating. Interment will be in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Joyce N. Anderson Memorial Fund in care of Somerset Undertaking Co, 113 North Main Street, Somerset, KY 42501.
