Leona Mae Hamm McBeath, age 60 of Russell Springs, KY, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at the Somerset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after long battle with cancer.
She was born on January 6, 1950 in Somerset, KY to the late William O. Dault Hamm and Opal Marie Phelps Hamm. Mrs. McBeath was a seamstress for Palm Beach Clothing and a member of Coffey Hill Friendship Church in Russell Springs, KY.
Mrs. McBeath is survived by her husband, Danny S. McBeath, whom she married on February 14, 1995 at Denham Street Baptist Church; a son, Brian H. Hunt of Ferguson, KY; two stepchildren, Shawn (and Keli) McBeath of Louisville, KY and Shannon (and Bryan) Dolfi of Orlando, FL; two grandchildren, Bailee and Riley McBeath of Louisville, KY; a brother, Carl Brent(and Alice) Leigh of Eubank, KY; five sisters, Ruby Imogene Hines of Norwood, OH, Emma Lois (and Dallis) Hutcheson of Somerset, KY, Sylvia Jean Urich of Indianapolis, IN, Opal Estelle (and Robert) Wallace of Russell Springs, KY, and Loretta Sue (and Roger) Smith of Park City, KY; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers, William Richard Hamm, Ralph Francis Hamm, and Herbert Randall Hamm; and two sisters, Juanita Margaret Turner and Judy Ann Gorham.
Visitation for Mrs. McBeath will be Friday, August 6th at 6:00 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 7th at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Dr. Greg Ryan officiating. She will be laid to rest at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, KY 42503 and/or the charity of your choice.
