Lillian Shelley

Lillian Elizabeth Shelley, 86, of Eubank, departed this life, Friday, December 25, 2020 for a wonderful reunion with the love of her life and late husband, Gorman R. Shelley.

Lillian was born on November 11, 1934 in Whitley County, KY to the late Bud and Minnie (Petrey) Durham. She was united in marriage to Gorman R Shelley on January 30, 1954 and cared for him until he passed away on August 3, 2014. She was also preceded in death by a brother, J.D. (and Ruth) Durham.

Lillian was a homemaker and long time member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was always busy and loved caring for her family. She also enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing, cooking, and UK basketball.

She is survived by and will forever be missed and remember by her four sons; Gorman Lee Shelley (Stacy Craig), Wayne Shelley and his wife, Donna, and Tony Shelley, all of Eubank, KY, and Danny Shelley of San Hook, KY; her grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Tyler Shelley of Savannah, GA; and Jessica (Alex) Johnson of San Diego, CA; one great-grandson, Xander Johnson of San Diego, CA; a sister, Opal Dean (Poe) Chapman of Shelbyville, TN; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Shannon officiating.

Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be after 9:00 AM Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
