Lynnville Smith, 61, of Danville, Ky., passed away, Monday, April 2, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his wife and children. Born Feb. 28, 1951, in Stanford, Ky., he was a son of the late Manuel and Ona Smith. A graduate of Memorial High School and University of Kentucky, Lynnville followed his dreams and career around the world, eventually returning to his beloved farm in his native Lincoln County. He was retired from Nestle USA in 2009, where he served as a senior vice president and director of purchasing. In 2007, he was commissioned by the state governor as a Kentucky Colonel. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family and friends, as well as his willingness to always go the extra mile.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Lynda Griffin Smith; three children, Nathan Smith (Heather) of Waynesburg, Julie Smith (James Norton) of Valencia, Calif., and Amy Despres (Stephen) of Alexandria, Va.; two granddaughters, Sophie Smith and Penelope Despres; two sisters, Wanda Alford of Midway and Joyce Williams of Arizona. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill. Entombment will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2012,
