Mary Ruth Denney, age 80, of Somerset, KY departed this life on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at her residence.
Mary was born on February 2, 1935 in Monticello, KY to the late William Floyd Young and Lida Jane Baker Young. She was a homemaker and loved to cook, quilt and scrapbooking. Mary was a member of Slate Branch Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Denney, whom she married on August 4, 1951 in Steubenville, KY; a son, Michael (and Cheryl) Denney of Lancaster, KY; a daughter, Jan (and Steve) Crabtree of Somerset, KY; a brother, Roger Doyle Young of Louisville, KY; and four grandchildren, Brett (and Robyn) Denney, Andrea (and Patrick) Wallace, Jami (and Dr. Taylor) Tohill and Adam Wallen; and five great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, William David Young.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 after 6:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 11:00am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Denney and Bro. Adam Wallen officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland or First Baptist Church of Somerset Television Ministry.
