Richard Allen Cash

Richard Allen Cash, age 44, of Somerset, KY, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023 at UK Chandler Hospital.

Richard was born on September 9, 1979 in Somerset, KY to Richard E. Cash and Frances Louise Hainey Cash.  He loved life and helping others. Richard enjoyed trucks, motorcycles, Jeeps and fishing.  He worked at Oakwood for 13 years and the last 4 years he was a teacher at A New Beginning Achievement Center.  He loved his students and coworkers as if they were his own brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his parents, Richard and Frankie Cash of Somerset; one brother, Brian Cash (Jade Sheldon) of Covington, KY; one uncle, Troy Hainey of Somerset; one aunt, Karen Thomas of Somerset; several cousins; and his girlfriend, Mystie Sexton of Somerset and her son, Evan Latham.   

Richard was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William Ernest and Mildred Cash; his maternal grandparents,  Harold and Loretta Hainey; and one uncle, Wayne Cash.

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

His funeral service will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 11:00am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.  Entombment will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.  Pallbearers will be Brian “Boogie” Lainhart, Jamie Lewis, Eric Randall, Tyler Meece, Elijah Hainey and Brandon King.
