Richard "Dickie" Ford

Richard Lee “Dickie” Ford, age 81, of Ferguson, KY, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024 at his residence. 

Dickie was born on July 1, 1943 in Ferguson, KY to the late Lawrence Z. Ford and Helen K. McFarland Ford. He was a 1961 graduate of Ferguson High School. Dickie worked as a Press Operator and retired from General Electric. He loved spending time with his family. 

Survivors include his loving son, Rick Ford of Ferguson; three grandchildren, Joshua Steven Ford, Jordan Daniel Ford and Jerrica Ford, several nieces and nephews; and friends and neighbors who are saddened by his passing.

Dickie was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Helen Ford; his wife, Shirley Shadoan Ford, whom he married on May 8, 1962 in Somerset at Duke Memorial Baptist Church and she preceded him on January 9, 2024; two brothers, Bobby Ford and William “Bill Ed” Ford; and three sisters, Peggy Joyce Ford, Dorita Ann Gross and Betty Sue Keeney.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Somerset, KY with his grandson, Jordan Ford officiating.

The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Dickie Ford.
