Robert "Carrol" Phelps, age 80, of Somerset, KY, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Somerwoods Nursing and Rehab.
Carrol was born on October 22, 1937 in Somerset, KY to the late Lester Carrol Phelps and Edna Mae Fulcher Phelps. He was a truck driver for Cumberland Lumber and enjoyed working on lawn mowers.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Ann Miller Phelps, whom he married on June 30, 1979 in Somerset; one daughter, Kimberly Sue Phelps of Middlesboro; one son, Randy M. (and Angie) Wheet of Somerset; two brothers, William H. "Bill" (and Jeanette) Phelps of Bronston and Roy Lee (and Lois) Phelps of Somerset; one sister, Geneva Mae Huber of Cincinnati, OH; eight grandchildren, Dustin Ross Montgomery, Derrek Robison, Heather LaShae Wheet Smiley, Joshua Luke Marinakas, Elia Stefina Faith Marinakas, Denise Marie Marinakas Downs, Madison Raeann Shirley and Grace Michelle Shirley; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Billie Jean Wheet Marinakas; and one brother, Cecil Phelps.
Visitation will be on Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
His funeral service will follow on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 1:00pm with Bro. Gary Phelps officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the Gideon Bible Memorial Fund or Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
