Steve C. Howard, age 88 of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Sunday, July 31, 2011 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born on February 27, 1923 to the late Houston and Lora Mills Howard. He worked as a truck driver for Besl Transfer for twelve years. Mr. Howard was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Burnside, Kentucky. He was very devoted to his church. He loved hunting. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Howard is survived by his wife, Betty Bales Howard, whom he married on January 6, 2011 in Somerset, Kentucky; a son, Wayne Allen (and Lynn) Howard of Tallahassee, FL; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Joanna Howard; and one brother, Donald (and Audrea) of South Dakota.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Elfreeda Howard; three brothers, Wade, Felix and Oval Howard; and three sisters, Bessie Beatty, Ruby Howard and Effie White.
Visitation for Steve C. Howard will be Friday, August 5, 2011 at 10:00 am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset, Kentucky with the funeral service to follow at 12:30 pm. Brother Walter Walden officiating. Interment will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
The family request expressions of sympathy be made to the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church of Burnside Fund.
