Vernon Girdler

Vernon “Cleo” Girdler age 85, of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life Monday, November 23, 2020 at his home.

Cleo was born May 30, 1935 to the late Benjamin Girdler and Angie Vaughn Girdler in Somerset, Kentucky.

He was of the Baptist faith, a member of West Somerset Baptist Church, and a UK Basketball fan, liked to watch ball games, loved watching westerns and tinkering.

Cleo was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Angie Girdler, brothers, Charlie, Ernie, Frank, Arthur and sister, Mary Girdler.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara Girdler, sons, James Vernon Girdler (Angie) of Somerset, Chad Barton Girdler (Patricia) of Somerset, daughters, Rebecca Jo Girdler of Somerset, Sherry Ann Welch (Emerson) of Richmond, sisters, Rachel Redmond of Somerset, Regina Godby of Somerset, grandchildren, Josh, Jason Girdler, Jessica Haist, Holly Ellis, Makenzie Girdler, Chassada Smith, James Broussard, Katy Broussard, Ron Adams, Nic Alford, Landon Alford and 11 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be Friday, November 27, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at Lakeside Memorial Gardens with Bro. Larry Butte officiating.
